WHAT’S INCLUDED

All meals Mon-Sat (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Ground transportation which includes airport pickup from the Pereira airport, and bus transportation from Manizales back to the Pereira airport on Sunday. The cost for Lodging and guide services.   

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED

Airfare to and from Colombia. Transportation cost if arriving or departing from an airport other than Pereira. Alcohol, mixed drinks, or wine will not be included other than a glass of wine or beer with dinner. Any incidental costs at hotels will not be included. Tips to our guides + travel insurance will not be included.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The goal of this tour is to create a diverse affordable birding experience that strikes a balance between observing birds in their natural habitat and locations with dedicated feeders.

The Andean Region is one of the best areas in Colombia for bird photography due to its elevation diversity and near constant cloud coverage.  These conditions provide soft even light which allows us to shoot all day, and brings out the beautiful colors of the Colombian Birds. Intermittent rain, perches covered with spanish moss, and blooming flowers provide additional character to your composition.

I would expect to observe a minimum of 30 species per day. All of the images in the Colombia Portfolios with the exception of two or three were photographed at the locations we’ll be visiting.

Tours will be from Sunday to Saturday and limited to a maximum of 6 people.

Semi-Monthly video meetings will be held two months prior to the Tour Date to ensure all questions are answered, and we’re prepped to have a successful trip.

A refundable deposit of $500 is required to secure a spot. Full payment will be due prior to booking the hotel arrangements about two months from the tour date. The deposit is refundable up until the time hotel arrangements are completed. If a cancellation occurs after this time period, a refund can still occur if you or I can find someone to fill the vacant spot.
